ABOUT
Our Story
Upward Rehabilitation was founded in 2022 by Dr. Mark Watson, DPT. Mark noticed an unfortunate trend started to emerge within hospitals, inpatient rehabs and home care- patients were being discharged sooner and well below their baseline function. Additionally, many patients lacked access to traditional outpatient physical therapy, which left individuals with limited options.
Upward Rehabilitation enables clients to participate in "outpatient" physical therapy within the comfort of their homes, thereby eliminating the inconvenience of traveling to a clinic.

"We live in your community and are committed to seeking your welfare! We strive to achieve our mission – it's our plan A and there is no plan B."
- Mark Watson,PT, Owner of Upward Rehab
Our Mission:
We're on mission to seek the welfare of our community by improving our client's wellbeing and improve access to "outpatient" physical therapy.

Our Vision:
To be a provider that loves and is loved by its community and to be an employer that loves and is loved by its employees.

Our Values
o Integrity: We're committed to providing treatment that is focused on our clients, as opposed to the "bottom line." Many businesses value integrity, however, remaining small improves our ability to remain accountable.

o Humility: We value humility in the context of our personal life, but also in business. That being said, If we're not able to meet your needs, then we'll help find a provider that can. We also recognize that our clients have a pivotal role in creating their treatment plan and that "lecturing" people isn't what creates change.

o Excellence: Delivering a product to our clients which is consistent with best practices is important to us, and ultimately how we think we'll thrive. We want our clients to know and feel they're receiving a product which is consistent with best practices.

Our Differentiators:
o Small Business: Upward Rehabilitation is a small business. Small = Less overhead = more emphasis on you and your goals (rather than the "bottom line"). Remaining small also allows any company to invest in its employees to to ensure a high quality of care is being provided.

o Convenience: Convenience usually comes at a cost, but that is not the case with Upward Rehabilitation; clients receive therapy in the comfort of their own home, without any added cost! Mobile physical therapy removes the potential stress associated with a clinic visit (saving you time and energy!)
o 1:1 Treatment: Clients receive 1:1 therapy 100% of the time! Some clinics are busy. In the PT world we call these clinics "factories" or "mills." If you're lying on a treatment table waiting for your therapist to arrive and give you the next exercise, you might (unknowingly) be at a "mill." 1:1 therapy ensures you're getting the attention you deserve and expands the possibilities for the types of treatments that can be performed.

o Visit Frequency and Episode Duration: If you have received home-health services before, it's possible you were seen by a physical therapist 5-8x and then discharged with a home exercise program. Clients of Upward Rehabilitation may experience a greater frequency of visits for a longer duration than those covered under Medicare A.

o Not homebound? No problem! Sometimes individuals will be discharged from homebound (Medicare A) services immediately when resumption of driving occurs, or a long-weekend trip is taken. You're free to exercise your freedom without it impacting your services!
