Blood flow restriction

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training is a treatment method which restricts blood flow to a selected group of muscles (similar to a blood pressure cuff), which in return allows for larger, quicker improvements in strength using a lower resistance.  This was once strictly used for athletes recovering from surgery; however, an overwhelming amount of evidence has been published in the past 10 years regarding its benefits within a geriatric population!  Tired of knee pain when performing step ups or squats?  BFR may be a solution to an improved quality of life while avoiding exercises which inflame your arthritis.
