FAQ

Below are the answers to our most common questions.  If you don't see your question or need further clarification, contact us via email, phone or this website.

  • How much will physical therapy cost?
Medicare B: Upward Rehabilitation is an in-network provider with Medicare B. Medicare B beneficiaries are responsible for 20% of the allowed cost of physical therapy (around $20/visit). If, however, you have a secondary insurance, there is a good chance that your services will be fully covered. You are responsible for meeting your annual deductible prior to Medicare covering services from Upward Rehabilitation. Although less common, some secondary insurances offer partial coverage. In the event you are not fully covered, you will be informed of your financial responsibility prior to treatment being provided. Out of Network: (OON) Some popular insurances have out-of-network benefits which cover Upward Rehabilitation's services. In the event you don't have OON benefits, Upward Rehabilitation can provide you the documentation needed to submit a claim to your insurance company. Self-Pay: Our self -rate is $150/visit. Each visit is 1 hour long, 1:1 with your therapist.
  • How do I get started?
Call us at 717-516-8104 or reach out to use at Hello@upwardrehabilitation.com We'll be happy to gather your information and work with you. We take care of validating your insurance benefits and explain your coverage prior to initiating services. Stress free!
  • Do I need a Doctors referral?
In most cases- no. For Medicare beneficiaries, a doctor's referral is not needed to initiate physical therapy. If your physical therapy lasts longer than 30 days, a doctor will need be informed and consent to the treatments you are receiving. Upward Rehabilition will contact your doctor's office to request the needed information to ensure you're covered. In other words, you don't need to worry!
  • What is Mobile Physical Therapy?
Mobile physical therapy is a model of care that renders services to individuals within the comfort of their homes.
  • What should I wear for physical therapy?
Comfortable, loose fitting clothes with sneakers work best for most treatments.
  • How long should I expect to receive physical therapy?
There are multiple factors that influence the frequency and duration of physical therapy. A typical frequency/duration of physical therapy is 2x/week for 6-8 weeks; although, your physical therapist may determine 3x/week initially may be needed for optimal benefit. Conversely, if you are progressing quickly toward your goals, a reduction of frequency to 1x/week may be appropriate. Ultimately, you and your therapist will collaborate with you to determine a frequency which is best suited to achieve your goals.
  • What if I don't have any exercise equipment?
Don't worry about equipment! Clinicians will bring whatever equipment is needed to help you achieve your goals. It's our belief that 1:1 treatment-in almost all circumstances- will exceed the benefit of gym-based machines.
  • How are you different other companies?
From Home Health services (commonly received after a hospitalization) are reimbursed through Medicare A (home health benefit to your insurance provider). Individuals are required to be homebound to receive this service. o With Upward Rehabilitation, there is no need to be homebound. One can participate in frequent community outings, drive, etc. which has no implications on the continuation of services. o Visit Frequency and Episode Duration: If you have received home-health services before, it's possible you were seen by a physical therapist 5-8x and then discharged with a home exercise program. Clients of Upward Rehabilitation may experience a greater frequency of visits for a longer duration than those covered under Medicare A. From stationary outpatient clinics: Upward Rehabilitation services you in the comfort and convince of your home, thereby removing potential stress associated with a clinic visit (saving you time and energy!) We truly believe that 90% (or more!) of clients do not need treadmills, exercise bikes (etc.) to achieve their goals. You receive 1:1 therapy - all the time! Some clinics are busy- this may result in you lying on a table waiting for your therapist to arrive to give you the next exercise. 1:1 therapy ensures you're getting the attention you deserve and expands the possibilities for the types of treatments that can be performed. From other mobile providers: We have a high respect for other mobile providers. That being said, there are a few things that we believe set us apart from our competition. Upward Rehabilitation is a small business; Less overhead = more emphasis on you and your goals (rather than the "bottom line"). Upward Rehabilitation offers treatments that distinguish itself from competitors (blood flow restriction therapy, balance modalities, LSVT BIG etc.). The owner (Mark) is a geriatric clinical specialist - this is a prestigious certification offered through the Americal Physical Therapy Association, which assures a higher level of knowledge regarding geriatric rehabilitation and a commitment to higher quality of care.
